PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) - The tracks at the Pascagoula Street crossing in downtown Pascagoula are passable once again after a trail derailed Wednesday morning.

Police say the train’s engine went off the tracks just before 7am, causing some traffic delays in the area as residents detoured to get to work and school. No one was injured.

Initially, police believed it could take a few hours to get the tracks back open but they were able to move the rail engine sooner than thought. The tracks reopened around 8am.
